Hello everyone!
I have a trip soon with about a 24-hour plane ride and I need to transport several insulin pens, keeping them cold throughout the trip.
I tested a Disoncare portable refrigerator that I bought on Amazon and followed all the instructions (pre-cooled the batteries, prepared it correctly, etc.), but the insulins still did not stay cold for as long as expected. The truth is that I was quite disappointed.
That's why I wanted to ask those of you who have taken very long flights or trips of more than 20 hours: how did you do it?What system do you use to keep insulin refrigerated?Any coolers, cases or methods that have really worked for you?
I am especially interested in the experience of those who have had to carry several insulin pens and have spent many hours between flights, stopovers and airports.
Thank you very much in advance!Any advice or experience will be of great help to me.

Hello,
I use the case that @Ricki21 comments on in the hot months.I believe these cases are designed to preserve the opened insulin that we are currently using (during the theoretical 28 days of expiration). When the outside temperature rises above 27 degrees, a chemical reaction occurs in the material that prevents it from exceeding 30 degrees (the temperature at which insulin begins to degrade).
It is therefore not a solution to preserve the reserve insulin that we have in the refrigerator, which must be kept between 2 and 8 degrees. The moment we take a pen out of the refrigerator we can theoretically use it for 28 days (although there are people who say it lasts a little longer), and the case will guarantee that the insulin does not spoil by preventing it from exceeding 30 degrees inside, but it will never keep it between 2 and 8 degrees.
If the trip is longer than 28 days, the case will not work, you must use a portable refrigerator that can be connected to a power bank.I have one that I bought on Amazon but I haven't had the pleasure of trying it, I'll have to go on a long trip.I'll pass you thelinkin case it's useful to you.
Luck!
