Dear everyone,

I want to take a moment to thank you at all those who have supported this project by buying the book "Living with diabetes: the power of the online community".Your contribution is essential to maintain the active forum, where we can share experiences, learn together and accompany ourselves on this path.

Soon you will see important changes in the forum, we have been working for many months to facilitate access to a new version, especially in mobile devices, improving interaction with more contents rich in images and better reading capacity.

To those who have not yet had the opportunity to read the book, I invite you to consider supporting us buying or actively participating in the forum; Both are valuable ways of contributing to this community to continue growing.

In the pages of the book you will find tools, knowledge and support, in addition to a humor point that helps us to better get the difficulties of living with diabetes, either because it has touched you in the first person, or because you live with someone who has it.

Finally, if you have already read it and liked it, I would greatly appreciate you that you share in Amazon.

Your opinions help more people discover the book and find in it a useful and close resource to live with diabetes!

Thanks again for being here and for making this community possible.

Together we are stronger!

Greetings,

Well I have to say that I have not bought the book, I have not read it, I have only seen Amazon's information.

I don't want to be the discordant sheep, but I know my opinion from a constructive criticism, if you want to understand so.

Step to cite the text of the back cover

"Living with diabetes: the power of the online community" is an innovative vision of diabetes. It collects the experiences and experiences of people with diabetes, the importance of having a support network, and how best well -being practices are applied daily to improve people's lives and their environment.

It is true that this forum includes experiences and experiences, those are the affable words, because the reality is that it collects the misbetes with the diabetes of each one, it is the reality.

In collation of the "support network", not as such is indicated, rather it is a network of relief, where each with the anonymity that the network provides is released to tell its misadventures and disagreements with diabetes, which otherwise would be much more difficult to express without total confidence with the receiver.

The only thing that the forum provides and/or its members are their knowledge, experience and experiences with diabetes, what we all know is not the same in all, I mean that we are not all equal or our diabetes is not in each of us either.Because what is doing well to the other may not and vice versa.

In summary, this is like when there is an emergency and everyone has the singing voice of this first and the other says not better the other, we do not continue with knowledge to bring an order and tempo of each thing.

In this forum there is not, or I do not know if there will be endocrine with diabetes to really be a support.

It is mentioned "of how best practices ..." there are no better or worse practices, there are adaptations to oneself that work better or worse, I always speak from the departure of a stable control struggle (within what the diabetes itself allows), which we usually post and share.

Finally, the life of the person with diabetes and their surroundings could be improved, if this forum promotes activities, meetings, etc. In person and/or human, where we could put face and name, with experiences with people equally, with the security of knowing that they know diabetes and its effects.

It is like the therapy with the psychiatrist you did online, because you will tell me first that confidence you are going to deposit and that guarantee will open you to a screen.

More than anything, because I don't know if it will be for age) I am created scenic fear to read the problems of other consequences of diabetes in this forum, thinking that it can also or will happen to me.

That with that negative part of the forum you also have to count and I do not think to be the only one who happens to me.

I know that maintaining this forum, if infrastructure takes time and money, that is unquestionable, but I also think that once in this, it could focus on a greater ambition and I think that more beneficial in terms of diabetes and live or live with it.

All the best

Hi @luvi,

Thank you very much for your sincere message and for taking the time to share your vision.Really that these types of reflections are valuable because they help us look at the project with other eyes and think about how to improve it.

I agree with you in something very important: what we share here many times are not only "beautiful experiences", but also those difficulties, fears and frustrations that diabetes brings. And precisely that is where I think the strength of this community lies: in being able to say aloud what we might not dare to count in another space, and discover that we are not alone in it.

You are also right that there is no universal recipe, which works to one may not serve another. But I think there is the value: reading different perspectives opens options, makes us feel accompanied and gives us clues to find our own path.

About what you comment on taking a step further with face -to -face encounters, workshops or other forms of human support, it seems to me a fantastic idea.Hopefully in the future we can organize something like that, because it would surely be very enriching.

As for the book, it is not intended to be a manual with unique solutions, but rather a reflection of what the community represents: a space where both hard experiences and learning and hope fit.

I perfectly understand your critical vision, and respect them, because in the end the forum and the book exist thanks to the fact that each one contributes its grain of sand, with the good and the difficult.

Thanks again for your frankness and for continuing here, sharing. This type of contributions make the community more sense and help us continue to grow together.

A hug,
